B.C. approves short-term rental legislation without amendments from Opposition

The B.C. government has approved legislation that will regulate the short-term rental market across the province, with the new law coming into effect in 2024 and increasing fines for non-compliance. This will require all providers of short-term rental accommodation to provide principal residence information to a provincial registry, and could lead to expensive hotel rooms for fans of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
