‘Missing middle’ zoning: Addressing housing affordability or hampering development?

In 2023, British Columbia rezoned single-family neighborhoods to allow 3 to 6 units per lot to address housing affordability. Similar laws have been passed in other North American cities. However, high government fees and charges make "missing middle" projects less feasible and more costly for builders and buyers.
